ABOUT BISCUIT

“This is Biscuit. Biscuit is small. Biscuit is yellow.”

With those words, the iconic Biscuit series was born. First published in 1996, Biscuit launched the My First I Can Read Series from HarperCollins and quickly became one of the most recognizable series for emergent readers as well as a New York Times bestseller. Now with over 100 titles in the series, and over 54 million copies sold worldwide, the beloved Biscuit series continues to be embraced by generations of children, educators, librarians, parents, and readers of all ages.  Deemed a modern classic, Biscuit has been translated into a dozen languages worldwide with The New York Public Library noting that Biscuit is one of the library system’s most borrowed and most overdue books. In 2025, Biscuit was featured in School Library Journal’s, “12 Series librarians love and why.”
